The Site

DaviManga is a comic site that's part of Nelf Jumping Studios. Right now there's only one comic on here because I've only gotten around to working on one, but I have other ideas..

Davi refers to the alien? or is it magical? non-human creatures who show up in the comics. Manga is the Japanese word for comics. According to some definitions, the comic(s) on here are webmanga rather than webcomics (even though I usually just use "webcomic") because they consist of full-page art following a continuous story, rather than being jokey cartoon strips. So that's my excuse. That, and DaviManga just sounds better.

DaviManga is mostly hosted on 110mb.com. The comic is hosted on ComicGenesis (formerly Keenspace). Yay for free web services. When I've made my fortune I shall donate profusely.

The Comics

Crossovers is my first webcomic. I was inspired by Sylvia Leung's Wish³, which was the first webcomic I ever read. Up till the day I followed a link from a FARP article and came across Wish³, I didn't even know what webcomics were. But by the end of the day I was hooked, and after a while I decided to make my own.

The story that Crossovers tells has changed quite a lot as I've reworked the scripts over the several years I've been working on this project, but the central idea remains that of a strange, somewhat magical alternate world intersecting with our own in the manner of the faerie world of Celtic myth. I originally envisioned Crossovers going on indefinitely, but now I'm beginning to see an arc and even an ending to the comic. That, however, is many chapters away, as we haven't even entered the Davi world yet...

The Davi

The Davi are a people of the nonhuman race, the haraiketa, that feature in the comic (Concept Art). I sometimes get lazy and use "Davi" to refer to the whole race of beings, but really it just means this one group. They live in a jungleriferous valley surrounded by high mountains, on a parallel world called Etarha or Ehetar, depending on who you're talking to.

Eventually in its galactic travels, the planet's path meets with the Earth's (again XD) and that's where our story begins...

The Artist

I'm a (almost finished) college student, Chinese major, linguistics minor, also studying Japanese (well..trying), training in a couple different martial arts (hm..trying to get back into that, too) and working as a cafe monkey corporate slave slacker...which is why my comic has not been updated too often in the past (yup). I write and draw all kinds of crazy things, generally because characters walk up to me in my head and command me to do so (still true).

Yeah. I'm kind of in transition right now, almost out of college and trying to figure out what to do next. Do I join the Coast Guard and see the world, or pursue my artistic visions and dreams? hm....
